Our Dalmation Puppy - Freckles

A week ago we drove out to get our little Dalmation puppy Freckles. We spent the day with her and the other 6 puppies and her mum and dad. It was adorable to see them altogether and so much tail wagging and mischief! Here she is with mum, dad and half of the litter. Of course she's the only one awake.

She's a full bred Dalmation and she comes from two show dogs so we got to see some of their tricks while we were there. We're planning on getting her into obedience and agility training once she's older so it was good to see the kind of things they teach them to do.

We had a 3 1/2 hour trip back home and she slept the whole way. Mostly because she was carsick but also because she was too scared to look up and out the windows at everything moving so quickly. She settled into our place really well though. She sleeps right through the night, is fine to get pats from new humans as she meets them and is really only scared by the barky dog next door.

Look, I got a stick.

She loves to rumble in this grassy bit whenever she can. It's hilarious to watch her somersault through it.

She also loves to just lay about and get pats every second she's not moving. And here she is below with her best friend froggy.

I'd apologise to those of you who follow me on Instagram for all the puppy spam but I'm actually not that sorry. She's adorable and we love her!

    1. Yeah I love her spots. The owners were originally calling her masquerade because it looks like she has a black mask around her eyes. We went for the more cutesy name of Freckles.

  5. Freckles is just gorgoeus and don't be surprised if her best friend froggy looses some of his stuffing, my dog loves to remove that stuff and spread it around the house/yard.

    1. Yes I was wondering when the stuffing was going to come out actually.
The frog has survived 6 days so far - fingers crossed it lasts a little longer before it becomes part of our backyard.

  8. As someone who shares her life with 5 dogs, be assured you will never stop taking pictures of your baby. I just started following you on Instagram because of the puppy porn.

    1. I know right!
She's got a little too much skin so it falls forward on her face and makes her look a little sad.
      But that's just cuter!

    1. I'm pretty sure she knows she's gorgeous and has us wrapped around her little paw.
And I wouldn't have it any other way.

  11. Oh I just love Dally puppies - mine is 12 years old and sadly nearing the end of the usual life span for a Dalmatian, not that you'd know it by the way he still tears around the yard and playing like a puppy - they grow old but don't grow up ha ha! My best tip - a dyson with the pet fur attachment tool

    1. Aww that's lovely that he's still so playful at that age (I think!).
Yeah we're noticing the build up of fur about the place, thanks for the tip!
